Position Summary:

Primary responsibility is to provide timely, accurate, and efficient service to our customers while supporting account growth initiatives. The Logistics Coordinator will manage multiple accounts within a diverse customer base and serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day service execution. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, operational knowledge, proactive communication, and the ability to identify opportunities for additional freight within existing accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by Management.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring all communication is clear, timely, and solution-oriented
  • Manage and execute customer orders from entry through completion
  • Track containers in CMS using rail and port tracing; monitor shipments through dashboards for problems and exceptions
  • Proactively communicate with customers via phone and email regarding shipment status, service issues, and additional freight opportunities
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to secure additional loads or expand freight volume within assigned accounts
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers to support retention and growth
  • Effectively communicate and schedule all pickup and delivery order information with customers, dispatch, over-the-road carriers, and/or highway as needed
  • Promptly and effectively resolve delivery, equipment, or service issues through appropriate channels
  • Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate account information
  • Ensure all templates are set up correctly and billing is accurate
  • Utilize Gulf Winds operating systems (CMS, Quote) to manage client freight
  • Minimize additional costs through effective communication, accurate data entry, thorough record keeping, and system utilization
  • Cross-train with other Logistics Coordinators and maintain updated desk manuals
  • Provide backup support for other Logistics Coordinators as needed

Skill Sets and Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort with proactive phone outreach
  • Ability to build customer relationships and influence freight decisions
  • Action oriented with a strong sense of accountability
  • Independent thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational aptitude
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM
  • Impeccable follow-through and commitment to quality customer service
  • Bi-Lingual is a plus (Spanish)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
